Colum McCann is an Irish born writer best known for his works of fiction published as novels and short stories.

McCann's fictional writing ranges in topics, from This Side of Brightness, which he wrote after living with the homeless in New York City's subway tunnels. More recently, he published Let the Great World Spin, about several stories set in 1970s New York City.
