Dizzy Dean

Dizzy Dean was a Major League Baseball pitcher who led the St. Louis Cardinals to World Series victory in 1934.


Dizzy Dean made his major league debut with the St. Louis Cardinals in 1930, and in five seasons with them led the National League four times in complete games and four times in strikeouts. In 1934 he helped the Cardinals to a World Series victory. He was known for his colorful personality, which, after his retirement at age 30, served him well as a broadcaster.
