Synopsis
Ettie Dean and her husband Bertram Frank Dean boarded the Titanic as third-class passengers on April 10, 1912, with their two small children. The family set sail for America with hopes of starting a new life in Kansas. After the crash, Ettie boarded a lifeboat with her two-month-old baby. She was reunited with her little boy on board the rescue ship Carpathia, but her husband did not survive.

Titanic survivor. Born Eva Georgette Light on May 18, 1879. Ettie and her husband, Bertram Frank Dean, ran a public house in London. They boarded the Titanic as third-class passengers on April 10, 1912, with their two small children. The family set sail for America with hopes of starting a new life in Kansas.
After the crash, Ettie boarded a lifeboat with her two-month-old baby. She was reunited with her little boy on board the rescue ship Carpathia, but her husband did not survive. She and the boys returned to England and lived with her parents until she remarried in 1920 to veterinarian Leonard Burden. Ettie Dean died on September 16, 1975 at age 96.
