Jerrod Carmichael
Jerrod Carmichael is an American actor, writer and stand-up comedian best known for his eponymous NBC series ‘The Carmichael Show.’
Synopsis
Jerrod Carmichael was born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on June 22, 1987. A few years after graduating high school, he moved to Los Angeles to embark on his acting and comedy career in 2008. Carmichael spent some years on the comedy club circuit and performed at the "New Faces" showcase at the Montreal Just for Laughs Festival. In 2014 he got a solid break appearing as Delta Psi Beta member “Garf” in the comedy Neighbors, opposite Seth Rogan and Zac Efron. That same year Spike Lee directed his HBO special, Jerrod Carmichael: Love at the Store, which was filmed at The Comedy Store in West Hollywood. In 2015 he took his career to new heights when he wrote, produced and starred in his own series, The Carmichael Show, on NBC, which has gotten praise for pushing the envelope on political and racial topics.
