Julius Streicher
Julius Streicher was a Nazi demagogue and politician who gained infamy as one of the most virulent advocates of the persecution of Jews during the 1930s.
Synopsis
Julius Streicher was born February 12, 1885 in Fleinhausen, Germany. He joined the Nazi Party in 1921. In 1925 he was appointed gauleiter of Franconia. In 1923 he founded and began to edit an anti-Semitic weekly newspaper, which initiated the campaign that led to the passage of the Nürnberg laws. Streicher was found guilty of crimes against humanity in 1946 and was sentenced to death by hanging.
