Lee Myung-bak

Lee Myung-bak is a South Korean business executive and politician who became president of South Korea in 2008.

Synopsis

Lee Myung-bak was born December 19, 1941 in Osaka, Japan. He was elected to the National Assembly in 1992 and reelected in 1996, only to resign two years later after he was found guilty of violating campaign spending limits. He withdrew from politics for a year then returned and was elected mayor of Seoul in 2002. Upon completing his term, he won the presidency of South Korea.
