Rex Harrison
Rex Harrison was a Tony- and an Oscar-winning English actor known for his film and stage performances. His most famous role is that of Henry Higgins in the film musical My Fair Lady.
Synopsis
Born in Huyton, Merseyside, England, on March 5, 1908, Rex Harrison began acting as a teenager, appearing in his first film, The Great Game, in 1930. He rose to fame in 1945 with a highly praised role in Blithe Spirit, followed by a notable performance in Anna and the King of Siam (1946). In 1948, he switched over to the stage, winning a Tony Award for his performance as Henry III in Anne of the Thousand Days (1948-49). He won a second Tony Award in 1957 for his performance in the production of My Fair Lady, followed by an Academy Award for his role in the 1964 film adaptation. Harrison continued to act later in life, giving his final performance just one month before his death in 1990.
