Russell Baker

Russell Baker is a Pulitzer Prize-winning writer and columnist who authored the autobiographies Growing Up and The Good Times.

Synopsis

Russell Baker was born on August 14, 1925 in Morrisonville, Virginia. He worked for the Baltimore Sun before joining the Washington bureau of the New York Times in 1954. By the early 1960s, Baker was writing a syndicated column and in 1979 he won the Pulitzer Prize for commentary. His autobiographies are entitled Growing Up and The Good Times.
