Burt Lancaster

Actor Burt Lancaster starred in films beginning in the mid-1940s. He appeared in seven movies with Kirk Douglas, the first one being I Walk Alone.

Synopsis

Burt Lancaster was born on November 2, 1913, in New York City. He joined the circus when he was 19 and later served in the army during World War II. He decided to pursue acting after the war and appeared in his first Broadway play A Sound of Hunting in 1945. Two years later he appeared in the film Desert Fury, which was the first of a film career that lasted until 1991. He retired and died in 1994.
