Synopsis

David Berger was among the first to apply the rules for class actions to antitrust violations, and from 1963 he filed a series of suits alleging price-fixing by assorted industries. Berger won a $2.5 billion settlement on behalf of employees of the bankrupt Penn Central Railroad and a $25 million award for Pennsylvania residents affected by the nuclear accident in 1978 at Three Mile Island.
