Business executive. Born on June 19, 1941, Gilberto Benetton is president of Edizione Holding, the family holding company, president of Autogrill and director of Benetton Group. He is vice president of Olimpia, the main shareholder in Telecom Italia, where he holds the same position. Gilberto is also a Director of Autostrade S.p.A., Mediobanca S.p.A., Pirelli S.p.A. and Abertis Infrastucturas S.A. He is married and has two daughters.
The Benetton Group, which launched in 1965, is a clothing and accessories company that is active in 120 countries. The group includes The United Colors of Benetton, the more fashion-orientated Sisley brand and the sportswear brands Playlife and Killer Loop. Benetton Group is listed on the stock exchanges of Milan, Frankfurt and New York.
