Justine Henin

Justine Henin is a former Belgian tennis player whose strong serve and powerful one-handed backhand elevated her to the top of the women’s game in the mid-2000s.

Synopsis

Born on June 1, 1982, in Liège, Belgium, tennis player Justine Henin turned pro in 1999. During the 2003 season, she captured two major championships and took over the top spot in the WTA rankings. She went on to net four French Open crowns, two U.S. Open titles, one Australian Open title and an Olympic gold medal. After initially leaving the sport in 2008, she retired for good in 2011.
