Roger Baldwin
Roger Baldwin was an activist and educator who co-founded and ran the American Civil Liberties Union.
Synopsis
Born on January 21, 1884, in Wellesley, Massachusetts, Roger Baldwin was educated at Harvard University. He was a free-thinker who later worked as a teacher, social worker and union organizer. Baldwin was a conscientious objector during WWI and co-established the American Civil Liberties Union in 1920, helming the well-known organization for decades. He died on August 26, 1981.
