Synopsis
Born on December 2, 1884, in New York, New York, Ruth Draper developed her craft as a thespian from childhood, becoming known as a trailblazing monologist who wrote her own material and embodied a range of characters in pieces like The Actress and A French Dressmaker. Touring internationally, she also appeared on Broadway intermittently from the late 1920s-50s. She died on December 30, 1956.
