Ruth Draper was an American actress known for her pioneering monologues, including The Italian Lesson and The Miner’s Wife.

Synopsis

Born on December 2, 1884, in New York, New York, Ruth Draper developed her craft as a thespian from childhood, becoming known as a trailblazing monologist who wrote her own material and embodied a range of characters in pieces like The Actress and A French Dressmaker. Touring internationally, she also appeared on Broadway intermittently from the late 1920s-50s. She died on December 30, 1956.
