Henry Wilson
Henry Wilson was a prominent abolitionist and Massachusetts politician who became the 18th U.S. vice president under Ulysses S. Grant.
Synopsis
Born in Farmington, New Hampshire, on February 16, 1812, Henry Wilson was made to work as an indentured servant during his youth before becoming a member of the Massachusetts legislature, later elected to the Senate. He was a fervent abolitionist and Radical Republican who eventually served as vice president in Ulysses S. Grant's administration. Wilson died on November 22, 1875 while in office.
