James Michener

James Michener was a Pulitzer Prize-winning author known for works like Tales of the South Pacific, Hawaii and Space.

Synopsis

Born circa February 3, 1907, James A. Michener was taken in as an infant by his adoptive mother and later worked as a teacher and book editor. He won the Pulitzer Prize for his fiction debut Tales of the South Pacific (1947), which was adapted into a hit musical and film. Other works included The Source (1965), Texas (1985) and The Covenant (1980). A regular bestselling author, Michener died on October 16, 1997.
