James Wilson
James Wilson was a Supreme Court associate justice. He signed both the U.S. Constitution and the Declaration of Independence.
Synopsis
James Wilson was born on September 14, 1742, in Carskerdo, Scotland (now Ceres, Fife, Scotland). In 1776, he started a U.S. law practice. Serving on the Pennsylvania delegation, he signed the Declaration of Independence, and in 1778 helped fame and sign the Constitution. In the 1790s, he lectured on law and political theory and became a Supreme Court associate justice. He died on August 21, 1798, in Edenton, North Carolina.
