Roh Moo-hyun
Roh Moo-hyun was a lawyer and human rights activist who was the president of South Korea from 2003-’08.
Synopsis
Born on August 6, 1946, in Gimhae, South Korea, Roh Moo-hyun educated himself to pass the bar and served as a human rights lawyer. He worked under Kim Dae-jung before running for president himself, winning the election in 2002. With a tumultuous time in office, including impeachment proceedings, Roh’s presidency ended in 2008. After facing bribery charges, he committed suicide on May 23, 2009.
